The President's Visit is an Egyptian satirical comedy starring Mahmoud Abdel Aziz, Ahmed Rateb, Hiyam, and Hassan El Asmar. When word reaches the humble village of Al-Dahriya that the presidential train — carrying the head of state and his American guest — will make a stop in the village, the entire community is thrown into feverish preparation. Village doctor Ahmed Rateb seizes the moment by declaring that incoming foreign aid will go exclusively to pregnant women, prompting the village men to embark on a frantic effort to fulfill that condition. The film uses this absurd premise as a devastating satire of corruption, hypocrisy, and greed — culminating in the perfect anticlimax when the presidential train rolls straight through without stopping.
