A Man Against the Law, is a 1988 Egyptian movie, directed by Hatem Radi, and starring Mahmoud Yassin, Mervat Amin, Hayatem. with a runtime of 100 minutes.
A Man Against the Law is an Egyptian drama that follows the teacher Faraj immediately upon his release from prison, where he had been serving time for fraud involving substandard building materials. Returning to his neighbourhood as though no time has passed, Faraj wastes no opportunity to resume his old schemes — chief among them a plan to seize his neighbour's home using a pre-imprisonment purchase agreement, intending to demolish it and build a large development in its place. His neighbour refuses to comply, especially since one of the apartments is home to Laila, a young journalist living with her mother, who is loved by the neighbour's son Mohsen. A gritty social drama about corruption, impunity, and the community ties that stand between an unscrupulous man and what he wants.
