Overview

For Whom The Sun Rises is an Egyptian social drama exploring the tensions between parental authority, filial ambition, and a young woman's restless search for wealth and independence. Kamel throws out his son Mamdouh after refusing to finance a nightclub venture, turning instead to a poultry farm project suggested by his company secretary Hoda. Hoda's sister Aida dreams of riches and is unwilling to settle for her fiancé Ahmed. When Aida meets the cast-out Mamdouh, an unexpected bond forms — but her path takes a more dramatic turn when the dancer Noosa draws her into the world of professional belly dancing. The film examines class aspiration, family loyalty, and the price women pay when they dare to choose their own futures.
