Love and the Death Penalty is an Egyptian social drama starring Sameera Ahmed as Amira, a young woman caught between family duty and the shadow of a murder charge. Struggling to support her ailing mother through financial hardship, Amira turns to her estranged father — who has remarried — for help. A fierce quarrel follows, and when she returns she finds him dead. Suddenly the prime suspect in his killing, Amira must fight to clear her name while the life she built with her fiancé Magdi, played by Emad Hamdi, hangs in the balance. A tense drama about injustice, circumstance, and the price of family loyalty.
