Troublemaker is an Egyptian romantic drama adapted from the British novel I Married a Man by Robert Barshy. Azza, a young woman fleeing the abuse of her stepfather, crosses paths with Medhat, who offers her both shelter and his heart — an offer she declines because of his poverty. Fate intervenes when her friend Magda, a widow from a wealthy family, suddenly dies, and Azza finds herself compelled to assume her identity. As the deception deepens and emotions complicate everything, Azza must decide whether to keep living a lie or reclaim her true self and the man she may have misjudged. A film about identity, class, and the choices love forces us to make.
