I Have the Wallet is an Egyptian comedy-drama film following Atoua, a school dropout who scrapes by as a pickpocket. When he lifts the wallet of his former classmate Shukri — now apparently a successful company manager — he discovers documents exposing a wide embezzlement ring. After a journalist friend publishes the evidence, Shukri hunts Atoua down, offering bribes and promises of employment to recover the papers. What begins as a low-stakes street hustle escalates into a sharp comic confrontation with institutional corruption, false credentials, and the unexpected power that falls into the hands of the least likely whistleblower.
