Prince of Cunningness, is a 1964 Egyptian movie, directed by Henry Barakat, and starring Farid Shawqy, Shwikar, Naima Akef. with a runtime of 130 minutes.
Prince of Cunningness (Amir al-Dahaa) is an Egyptian period action-adventure film widely regarded as an Arabic adaptation of Alexandre Dumas' The Count of Monte Cristo. Hassan Al-Hilali is a young man living peacefully with his virtuous father and engaged to the beautiful Yasmine — until three treacherous enemies, Mataeli, Jaafar, and Shaheen, falsely report to the governor that he is plotting against the state. Hassan is imprisoned for years without trial. In his cell, he befriends the elderly Galal, who reveals to him the location of a vast buried treasure. After a daring escape, Hassan claims the treasure and transforms himself into a wealthy and powerful man with a single purpose: to return to his hometown and exact a precise, calculated revenge on those who betrayed him. A lavish and satisfying tale of justice deferred but ultimately delivered.
