Al-Talaqqi (Meet) is an Egyptian social drama following three newly graduated young men — Kamal, Mustafa, and Nabil — whose shared sense of alienation ultimately drives them toward the same drastic decision. Mustafa, a journalist, finds his work strangled by an editor-in-chief unwilling to publish anything that challenges the status quo. Together their stories form a pointed critique of the systems that push talented young Egyptians into emigration — a film that remains painfully relevant decades after it was made.
