Overview
El-Zolm Haraam is an Egyptian social drama that traces the consequences of misplaced trust and betrayal between two close friends, Samira and Huda. Samira falls for Farid, a charming but manipulative man who deceives her and exploits her vulnerability, leaving her to face the fallout of his actions alone. When Farid discovers that Samira is set to marry a wealthy young man who happens to be Huda's brother, his manipulation turns to blackmail and threats. A sobering portrait of social injustice and the way women's lives can be upended by the cruelty of those they trusted, the film delivers its moral clearly and emotionally.
