Overview
Ebn Tahya Azzouz is an Egyptian social drama that opens with Tahia committing embezzlement at the instigation of her unscrupulous neighbor Ahmed, who pockets the stolen money and funnels it into drug trafficking with associates Fawzi and Khalil. Tahia is sentenced to life imprisonment, but is eventually released and enters into an unregistered marriage with Ahmed, bearing him a child he refuses to acknowledge. As police pressure on the drug network intensifies, the gang conspires to eliminate the police officer leading the crackdown. The film weaves together themes of exploitation, injustice, and crime, centering the story on a woman victimized by those she trusted most.
