A Girl Called Apple is an Arabic drama film centered on Zeenat, a beautiful young woman nicknamed Apple, whose looks make her the target of a cruel scheme devised by her domineering boss Qadriya. Despite marrying for the ninth time — this time to a man named Fouad — Qadriya is unable to have children. She coerces Zeenat's husband Hassan into divorcing his wife, then arranges for Zeenat to marry Fouad for nine months so that she can adopt the child Zeenat bears. The film is a searing examination of power, exploitation, and the objectification of women under the guise of respectability.
