Victoria Habiqah

A theatrical actress of Lebanese origin, she has worked in Egyptian theater and cinema since the 1930s. Her first entry into cinema dates back to the year 1939 through the film “Qais and Laila” starring Badr Lama and Amina Rizk, but her fame came from her work with Naguib Al-Rihani’s theater troupe, as she always performed the roles of the Turkish aristocratic lady and the roles of the Levantine woman. She began her artistic career by working as an extra, before Al-Rihani nominated her to play the role of his mother (Nazima Hanem) in his film “Si Omar” in 1941, directed by Niazi Mustafa. The date of her cessation of work and her departure from art dates back to the year 1965, which is the year in which she starred in her last film, which was the film “Mama’s Fiancé/65” by Fatin Abdel Wahab, starring Ahmed Mazhar, Nabila Obaid, and Madiha Yousry. She died on November 20, 1972.
