An Egyptian director and writer, he holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism in 1961, and a Master’s in African Studies in 1967. He worked as a press editor in Rose Al-Youssef magazine. He began his career in cinema by writing screenplays, and his first work was the film (For Women Only) in 1962. He then participated as a director in the film (No, Mother) in 1979. Among his most notable works as an author are (Playing Open, The Troubles in Nuweiba, The Market), and in Directing (Suicide of a Secondary Teacher, Darb Al-Alam).
