Sukkar Bulaq is an Egyptian social drama set in the working-class district of Bulaq, Cairo. After divorcing her first husband, a man entangled in the drug trade, she remarries a man named Atwa in hopes of building a better life. But old suspicions resurface when she begins to wonder whether her new husband is involved in the same illicit world she thought she had left behind. The series examines a woman's relentless search for dignity and stability amid Cairo's gritty street life.
