Muhammed Kamel Hassan Al Mohami

“Mohamed Kamel Hassan Al-Mahami,” born on March 15, 1915, is a screenwriter, writer, film and radio writer, director, and producer. He studied at the Police College and then at the College of Law to become a lawyer Mohamed Kamel Hassan, the lawyer, is considered the father of the Egyptian detective story. He presented many detective stories on radio and cinema, and the series “Love and Execution,” which was presented in 1954 on Egyptian radio, is one of his most famous radio works, as all Egyptians listened to it at a quarter past five every day. Among the films he directed were “Flowing in Fire” in 1957, “Stronger Than Life” in 1960, and “The Lost Son” in 1964. Among the films he wrote were “Love from Heaven” in 1943, “Amber” in 1948, “Wahiba of the Gypsy Queen” in 1951, “Who is the Killer” in 1956, and “A Very Jealous Wife” in 1969. He produced the film “The Promise” in 1955 His second wife, actress Soheir Fakhry, was more than 25 years younger than him, and he had two children with her. He had a problem with one of the power centers, as a result of which he entered a psychiatric hospital, divorced his wife, and traveled to Lebanon. He did not return until after the power centers were eliminated in May 1971, and he died on April 5, 1979.
