Overview
My Hippy Wife is an Egyptian comedy film that follows a young man down on his luck who moves in with a friend after failing to find housing of his own. When he falls in with a free-spirited group of hippies and marries one of the women among them, his only option for a home is to stay at his friend's place — a friend who happens to have a deep and vocal contempt for hippies in all their forms. With the reluctant host scheming to get rid of the newlywed couple, the film delivers a string of comic situations rooted in the clash between conservative attitudes and countercultural lifestyles, asking whether cohabitation can change even the most stubborn of minds.
