Overview
Seraa fi al-Nile (Conflict in the Nile) is an Egyptian drama film set in Luxor, where the townspeople pool their resources to buy a new river barge to replace their aging vessel. The village elder Mojahed and young Mahsab, son of the riverboat captain, are entrusted with the purchase money — but word reaches local crime boss Abu Sufyan, who dispatches his men to seize the funds. A taut and grounded story rooted in Upper Egyptian village life, pitting community solidarity against the greed and violence lurking along the riverbanks.
