Overview

Samora & the Pretty Girl is an Egyptian comedy film centered on a working woman whose married life is plagued by her husband's obsessive jealousy and deep-seated distrust. As his paranoia spirals out of control, a string of increasingly farcical situations unfolds — culminating when he convinces himself that his wife is having an affair with her boss and plots revenge to salvage his wounded pride. Blending broad physical comedy with a sharp undercurrent of social commentary on male insecurity, the film offers an entertaining look at the absurdities of jealousy in a modern Egyptian marriage. A crowd-pleasing entry in Arabic comic cinema.
