Ma'lesh Ehna Bnetbahdel is an Egyptian satirical comedy film set against the backdrop of the 2003 Iraq War. Al-Qarmouty, the outspoken owner of a popular café in Cairo's Nazlet El-Semman district — a neighborhood that lives off tourism — makes no secret of his opposition to American foreign policy. When he sends his son Wahid to Baghdad to deliver a shipment of mangoes to his Iraqi friend Abu Adnan, what should be a simple errand turns into a crisis: Wahid is arrested after criticizing Saddam Hussein's regime. With US forces massing at Iraq's borders, Al-Qarmouty must travel into a war zone to rescue his son, setting off a darkly comic adventure that skewers political absurdity on all sides.
