Overview
A Man in Our House is a landmark Egyptian patriotic drama film set during the struggle against colonialism. After successfully assassinating a pro-colonial Prime Minister, resistance fighter Ibrahim Hamdy evades capture and takes refuge with his university acquaintance Mohi, whose family reluctantly agrees to shelter him. While the family risks everything to protect Ibrahim, Abdul Hamid Khatib attempts to exploit the situation to pressure Samia into marrying him. The youngest daughter Nawal emerges as a vital secret link between Ibrahim and his fellow resistance members. A stirring portrait of courage, sacrifice, and the intertwining of ordinary domestic life with extraordinary national duty, the film remains one of Egyptian cinema's defining patriotic works.
