Overview

The Sex Worker is an Egyptian drama that follows Suzy, a young woman driven by hardship into a life of prostitution, whose path unexpectedly crosses with that of Ahmed, a dedicated graduate student working toward his doctorate. When Ahmed's roommate Fathy brings Suzy into their shared apartment, Ahmed hears her story and sees both a human being in need and material for his academic research. He offers to pay her to quit her work, setting in motion a complex relationship that examines poverty, morality, and social class in Egyptian society.
