Al Maatooh is an Egyptian comedy series in which Ahmed, a zoo employee, takes a tumble down his home staircase — and immediately blames his neighbor Thanaa for pushing him. Thanaa is arrested and put on trial, leaving her husband Adel to race against time to prove her innocence. The series wrings its comedy from the absurdity of misplaced accusations, neighborhood gossip, and a justice system entangled in a very personal dispute, all set against the familiar backdrop of a bustling Egyptian neighborhood.
