An Egyptian actor, born in 1943 in the Karmouz neighborhood in Alexandria, he is the pioneer of pantomime in Egypt, where he loved to imitate famous artists from a young age, such as Charlie Chaplin, Abbott, and Costello. He presented performances during school and university days. He studied pantomime in the former Soviet Union and directed pantomime in the Republic of Azerbaijan. He won the Distinguished Artist Award in the Arab World twice, in 1984 at the Bahrain Festival and the second at the 1990 Arab Theater Festival in Amman, the Egyptian Ministry of Defense Shield, and the Cairo University Shield. Former Minister of Culture Farouk Hosni honored him at the Children’s Cinema Festival; For his journey in the art of pantomime, at the Cairo Opera House in 2010. He received awards from the University of Geneva, the Federation of Writers in India, and the University of Sydney, Australia, for his distinguished performance in the art of pantomime. He was honored for his entire work at the Cairo Drama Festival in New Alamein in 2023.
