The Accused, is a 1980 Egyptian movie, directed by Mohamed Nabih, and starring Dalal Abdelaziz, Mahmoud Abdel Aziz. Magda El Khatib.
Al-Muttaham (The Accused) is an Egyptian social drama that delivers a searing portrait of injustice and mob mentality. Ali, an office worker, is driving to his company's Ismailia branch when he witnesses a road accident in which a cyclist falls. He pulls over out of simple decency — to check on the injured man — and is immediately seized by bystanders who accuse him of causing the death. What begins as an act of humanity becomes a nightmare of false accusation. The film is a pointed exploration of how quickly innocent intent can be criminalized in a society quick to assign blame, and the devastating cost of being in the wrong place at the right time.
