شالوم الترجمان, is a 1935 Egyptian movie, directed by Togo Mizrahi, and starring Shalom, عبده محرم. عدالات.
Shalom the Interpreter is a classic Egyptian comedy set against the vibrant backdrop of Alexandria. When an American tourist and his daughter Betty arrive in the city, they are taken in by Shalom, a lottery ticket seller who confidently presents himself as a professional translator — despite having no knowledge of English whatsoever. Hired as their guide, Shalom stumbles through cultural and linguistic misunderstandings at every turn. The farce deepens when a wealthy pasha whisks the father off on a desert hunting trip, leaving Betty alone with Shalom. She begins to play with his feelings, pretending to be in love with him, generating a string of comic situations that expose the endearing gap between Shalom's grand claims and his very limited reality.
