Mostefa Ben Boulaïd is an Algerian historical epic recounting the life and martyrdom of Mustapha Ben Bouleid (1917–1956), a founding figure of the Algerian War of Independence and the military-political leader of the Aurès region. The film traces his evolution from a committed nationalist into the fearless commander who helped launch the armed revolution on November 1, 1954. It follows his clandestine journeys through multiple Arab countries in disguise, smuggling weapons for the Algerian resistance, before his capture by French colonial forces at the Tunisian-Libyan border.
