Les Palmiers Blessés, is a 2011 Tunisian movie, directed by Abdellatif Ben Ammar, and starring Leïla Ouaz, Neji Nejah. Hassan Kachach.
Les Palmiers Blessés (The Wounded Palms) is a Tunisian drama film set in the coastal city of Bizerte during the tense winter of 1991, as the first Gulf War looms over a world on edge. A Tunisian writer enlists a young woman named Chama — searching for any work she can find — to type up his autobiographical manuscript. As she works her way through his pages, the content awakens something personal in Chama: a need to understand the events of the Bizerte War of 1961, a conflict in which her own father died as a patriotic volunteer. The film is a quiet, deeply felt exploration of history, intergenerational trauma, and the way the past reaches forward to shape the present.
