Lamada is a Moroccan social drama following Lamia, a spirited young university graduate who finds herself unemployed and stuck for years despite her drive and ambition. Refusing to accept defeat, she rallies a small group of like-minded friends and heads into the desert to cultivate land and build a self-sufficient community on their own terms. Their idealistic project, however, quickly attracts the attention of powerful officials who seek to claim what the group has built. What begins as a story of personal resilience and collective dreaming becomes a confrontation with entrenched authority. The film speaks to youth unemployment, rural ambition, and the cost of daring to build something new outside the system.
