Overview
Everything Before It Is Over is an Egyptian drama that tenderly examines a retiring civil servant gripped by a singular, poignant fear: that he will die without an obituary published in Al-Ahram newspaper. As his daughter marries and leaves, his son travels abroad, his wife passes away, and his closest friends at the café disappear one by one, he is left utterly alone. In a quietly moving gesture, he entrusts the building doorman with one final request — to carry word of his passing to the newspaper if he should die.
