Overview
Rule of Time is an Egyptian romantic drama following engineer Adel as he returns to Cairo from Europe, determined to find Wedad, the woman he loves. What he discovers unravels his assumptions: the girl he had proposed to through the wealthy Nemat is not her legitimate daughter at all — her real daughter is Souad. Meanwhile, Wedad has left home and forged her own path as a radio singer, building an independent artistic life. As Adel navigates a landscape of mistaken identities, altered circumstances, and lingering emotions, the film weaves a classic melodrama around themes of fate, social standing, love, and the way time quietly reshapes the world around us.
