Overview

Laughter, Play and Music is an Egyptian social comedy about Taher Abdel Zaher, a principled journalist scraping by under the pressure of financial hardship. When a relative passes away and leaves him a theater, Taher's windfall triggers an unexpected moral unraveling — the very principles he once wore as a badge of honor begin to erode, one compromise at a time. The film is a witty and perceptive look at how sudden wealth can quietly reshape a person's character.
