Nadia finds herself in grave danger when Tawfiq, a fugitive from justice, coerces her into hiding him and aiding his escape. When the police uncover the connection between the two, Nadia is arrested and subjected to a grueling investigation. Tawfiq, meanwhile, remains on the run — tormented by guilt yet driven by survival. A taut drama and crime thriller, the film explores the predicament of an ordinary citizen ensnared by circumstances beyond her choosing, and the moral cost of complicity under duress. A fitting final statement from one of Arabic cinema's most important directors.
