Overview
Al-Seraa is an Egyptian drama series that turns an unflinching eye on injustice within a family. Atwa suffers from a mental illness, but his recovery is blocked by his uncle Abbas, who refuses to allow him treatment while tightening his grip on the family inheritance and denying both Atwa and his brother Mahran what is rightfully theirs. Mahran refuses to stay silent, confronting Abbas in an escalating battle over dignity, rights, and the fate of a vulnerable man caught in the middle. The series uses the mechanics of a family dispute to probe deeper questions about who gets to define care, who holds power within a household, and what it costs those without it.
