Al Shahhateen, is a 1988 Egyptian movie, directed by Abdallah El Sheikh and Mounir Mourad, and starring Saeed Saleh, Mohamed Mounir. Souad Nasr.
Al-Shahhateen is an Egyptian stage comedy starring Said Saleh as a downtrodden laborer ground down by back-breaking, poorly paid work and constant workplace harassment. When he watches street beggars effortlessly pull in larger sums than he earns through honest toil, a wild idea takes root: he recruits a band of associates, organizes them with surprising efficiency, and crowns himself the undisputed king of Cairo's beggars. What unfolds is a sharp comic parable about labor, dignity, and economic absurdity, with Said Saleh at his most energetic and irreverent, turning a subversive premise into one of Egyptian theater's most entertaining social satires.
