
Egyptian composer and actor. He was born into an ancient artistic family belonging to the Jewish religion. From a young age, he studied in French schools, then joined the French College, but he did not complete his studies, and preferred to go into the field of art. He worked in many films as an assistant director, and after that he began composing many songs in films, the most famous of which are (A Strange Thing, Engagement Ring, The First Time You Love, Laughter, Play, Find and Love). He also starred in a number of films, including (My Love and Me, A Date with the Devil, Have a Happy Day), but after that he decided to put most of his focus on composing, in which he excelled greatly. He is the brother of the late artist Laila Murad He worked as an assistant director with Kamal Selim on 24 films in the 1940s. He initially entered the field of cinema as a clackett worker. He converted to Islam and married the artist Suhair Al-Babli. He died in 1981 at the age of 59.
