The Singer, is a 1979 Egyptian movie, directed by Sayed Eissa, and starring Salah Mansour, Shoukry Sarhan. Soheir El Morshedy.
The Singer is an Egyptian romantic drama set against the backdrop of the 1940s, a time of simmering resistance against the British occupation. Hassan, a gifted singer known as Al-Mughnawati, falls deeply in love with Naima, the daughter of the village mayor. But her family has already pledged her to her cousin, and no amount of feeling will change their minds. Complicating matters further, Aziza — a dancer in Hassan's troupe who loves him herself — attempts to divert his heart away from Naima. Hassan refuses, insisting his love is written in fate. With no other way forward, the couple make a desperate choice: to flee together and marry against the will of her family. A sweeping romantic drama of love, tradition, and defiance.
