Yousry El Gendy

Egyptian writer. He was born in Damietta Governorate, married and has two sons. The older one works as a journalist and the younger one works as an engineer. He was particularly interested in writing popular heritage, and he contributed to the development of the mass culture apparatus while assuming the position of its artistic advisor in 1982. He held many management positions. He worked at the Ministry of Culture since 1970. He worked as director of the Samer Theater in Cairo in 1974, then he was director of the Central Ensemble for Mass Culture in 1976, then an advisor to the head of the authority for artistic and cultural affairs until he was retired on February 5, 2002. He presented many Written works presented in film, television and theatre. He began his presence in the theatrical arena in the sixties of the twentieth century.
