Overview

Terrorism and Kebab is a landmark Egyptian comedy film and one of Adel Imam's most celebrated performances. The story follows Ahmed, an ordinary citizen who visits the Tahrir Complex — one of Cairo's most notoriously labyrinthine government buildings — on a simple errand: to transfer his son to a different school. What should be a routine bureaucratic task becomes an odyssey of obstruction, indifference, and circular absurdity. Pushed past his breaking point by the kafkaesque system, Ahmed finds himself inadvertently holding a weapon and taking hostages — to the shock of everyone, including himself.
