Overview

The Lights is an Egyptian drama that follows Hanaa, a village girl captivated by the glamour of the cinema world when a film director arrives in her hometown to shoot his latest production. Through a chance encounter with Tamatem, the personal dressmaker of actress Sally, Hanaa secures a position as Sally's maid and steps into a world far removed from her humble origins. There she meets Mourad, a manipulative figure who draws her toward the cabaret scene. The film examines the dangers that await young women who chase the bright lights of show business, contrasting rural innocence with the seductive but treacherous world of Egyptian entertainment.
