Overview

7 Days in Heaven is an Egyptian social comedy set in Alexandria in the 1960s, following a poor flower seller living with her uncle whose quiet life is upended when she is recruited for an unusual journalistic experiment. Tasked with posing as a millionaire's daughter and spending a week immersed in the world of Cairo's wealthy elite, she discovers the vast and absurd gulf between her world and theirs. Warm, witty, and sharp-eyed, the film uses its class-crossing premise to deliver an enduring comic critique of Egyptian society.
