Down with Colonialism! (Yasqut Al-Isti'mar) is an Egyptian historical drama film spanning decades of national struggle. It opens with history teacher Fahmi being martyred in a pro-Saad Zaghloul demonstration on the very day his wife gives birth to their son, Mujahid. Raised by his mother to carry the flame of resistance and defy British colonialism, Mujahid grows up shaped by his father's sacrifice. Despite being expelled from school, he is protected by his principal out of reverence for his father's legacy — and falls in love with the principal's daughter Azza. When World War II breaks out, Mujahid travels to Sudan to continue his anti-colonial struggle. A sweeping patriotic epic rooted in Egypt's fight for independence.
