These Days is an Egyptian psychological thriller following a prominent intellectual and political writer married to a woman consumed by wealth and status. He hires a retired police officer to assist him with a new book, but the arrangement quickly unravels when the officer begins an affair with the writer's wife. Rather than confronting the betrayal openly, the writer — obsessed with his own image and driven by ambitions of a ministerial post — schemes to have the officer eliminate his wife while engineering a cover story portraying her as mentally unstable. A taut, morally dark drama built on a triangle of manipulation, ambition, and cold-blooded betrayal.
