Overview

Not One Thousand and One Nights is an Arabic drama series that reimagines the iconic tale of Scheherazade through a fresh and contemporary lens. In this retelling, Scheherazade is haunted by a recurring dream that a soothsayer interprets as a warning: she has only two days left before she meets the same deadly fate as the women who came before her at the hands of her husband Shahryar. Refusing to accept this as her destiny, she devises a plan to outsmart fate and rewrite her own ending. The series engages playfully but seriously with the original legend, recasting its beloved heroine not as a passive storyteller but as a woman of agency and cunning, fighting for her survival in a story as old as time — and completely reinvented.
