Overview

Hamsat Al-Shaytan (The Cursed) is an Egyptian dramatic thriller set on a rural estate owned by the wealthy Aziz Bey. When he arrives with his young bride, the marriage quickly reveals a painful truth — Aziz's sexual impotence renders their union hollow and torturous for his wife. Trapped in a loveless estate far from the city, she becomes increasingly drawn to Salim, a handsome young man employed in the stables. The film builds on the charged tension between social convention and suppressed desire, exploring themes of entrapment, temptation, and the desperate search for fulfillment. A slow-burning drama rooted in the contradictions of class and sexuality in Egyptian rural life.
