Harib min Al-Tagneed is an Egyptian comedy film built on a classic case of mistaken identity with a darkly comic twist. Mohamedeen, a poor army conscript, discovers he is a dead ringer for Majed, a wealthy man who has just escaped from a psychiatric hospital. Seizing the opportunity to escape his own modest fate, Mohamedeen assumes Majed's identity — only to find that Majed's family has plans of their own to get rid of the man they think is Majed. The film plays on the contrast between social classes and the lengths people will go to when they believe no one is watching. A fast-paced, entertaining comedy that uses the body-swap premise to gently satirise wealth, privilege, and the Egyptian social ladder.
