The Coming Days is an Egyptian social comedy film set in a villa on the northern coast, where a group of young people have gathered for what begins as a carefree summer — secretly coupled and married in unregistered customary unions, away from family scrutiny. The fun comes to an abrupt halt when a drug dealer is murdered inside the villa itself. Suddenly these irresponsible young adults must face consequences they are wholly unprepared for. The film blends genuine comedy with sharp social commentary, raising pointed questions about youth attitudes, moral accountability, and the gap between the carefree lives young Egyptians lead and the adult responsibilities they are unprepared to shoulder.
