Thieves in Thailand is an Egyptian comedy-adventure film that pairs art and crime in a farcical double act. Heima is a mild-mannered electricity department employee whose quiet life is upended when Fatteen, a brother he never knew he had, appears after the death of their mother. Discovering that Fatteen is a talented graduate of a fine arts college, Heima cannot resist the opportunity: he persuades his newly found brother to paint a perfect replica of a priceless painting, with the intention of smuggling the original to Thailand while the forgery takes its place. What seems like a straightforward scheme quickly spirals into a chaotic and dangerous adventure that tests the bonds of brotherhood as much as it tests their nerves.
