Overview
I Want a Solution is a landmark Egyptian drama film that shines a light on the injustices women faced under outdated divorce laws. Doria's marriage to her diplomat husband Medhat has become unbearable, but when she asks for a divorce he flatly refuses, forcing her to fight through a grueling court process that strips away her dignity year by year. As she works as a translator to support herself, a tender relationship develops between her and Raouf, her brother's friend. The case grows more treacherous when Medhat produces false witnesses, leaving Doria trapped in a legal labyrinth for over four years in a powerful indictment of patriarchal legal systems.
