Lesson Is Over, Idiot is an Egyptian comedy with a whimsical science-fiction premise: Professor Farid believes he can artificially boost human intelligence through a surgical procedure on the neck. After promising results in mice, he selects a human subject to test his theory on. The operation initially appears to work, but the man soon regresses, becoming noticeably less intelligent than he was before going under the knife. The humiliating failure leads Professor Farid to a heartfelt realization — that real intelligence cannot be manufactured in a lab; it can only grow through love. The film balances its absurd concept with a genuinely touching conclusion.
