El Mahzooz is an Egyptian comedy thriller starring Mohamed Sobhy as Azouz, a meticulous planning employee living alone in an upscale Zamalek apartment who has been engaged to Suhair, played by Rawiya Saleh, for seven years — his defining trait being a near-total inability to make decisions. His quiet, regimented life is shattered when he accidentally overhears a phone call in which Al-Hanash, played by Mahmoud al-Qalawi, and a co-conspirator plot the murder of Azouz's neighbor, Mohamed Abd al-Rahman. Suddenly thrust into the middle of a deadly scheme he never asked for, the ever-hesitant Azouz is forced to act and decide for the very first time. A fun, fast-paced comedy that showcases Mohamed Sobhy's comic timing to great effect.
